Bequai Bound

After having breakfast at Ole’ in Rodney Bay we leave for our 70 mile sail to Bequai. We are leaving in the afternoon, and will sail through the night so as to reach Bequai in the morning. Our sail through the night is lovely, just enough wind, seas nice and calm, stars bright and the southern cross on the horizon. It just can’t get any better.

We arrive at Admiralty Bay, Bequai at 1000. There’s quite a few boats at anchor here already, but we find the perfect spot back from everyone else. Splash anchor down, crap, poor holding, try again. Splash, anchor down, good holding, nice spacing from other boats, we’re here! We spot Kindred Spirit anchored in the bay with John and Darcey onboard. They are very familiar with the Bequai as they were actually married on the beach here. Going ashore with them is like old home week! We went to a cruisers get together at Keegan’s, and after beaching the dinghy with help from fellow cruisers we had a great time. Sunday mornings the bread man comes along in his boat. He sells croissants, banana bread and baguettes. Yummy.

The locals are friendly, the town is clean, the food is wonderful…we love Bequai so much we stayed 10 days!
